KeatsConnelly is a proud sponsor of the Veterans’ Day and Remembrance Day Charity Pancake Breakfast to be held on Remembrance Day – Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Deer Valley Airport located at 702 West Deer Valley Road in Phoenix. Pancake breakfasts will be free for any US or Canadian veterans who attend, and non-veterans can also attend and donate $10 to enjoy a pancake breakfast and help defray the costs of serving the veterans. Proceeds will also be used to support local and national veterans’ charities who serve veterans in the Phoenix and Calgary areas. Breakfast will start at 6 a.m. and will run through 10 a.m., the timing of which is coordinated so that attendees can also visit the National Cemetery and any of the Veterans’ Day parades that are happening across the valley.
There are currently no other events in Phoenix like this one to help commemorate Canadian and U.S. veterans this way! We are spotlighting the military alliance of the U.S. and Canada to reinforce that the closeness of the Canadian and U.S. defense provides both countries with greater security than could be achieved alone. There will be local dignitaries in attendance, there will be Remembrance Day poppies available to support the Canadian Legion, there will be charities that offer services for veterans at the event, and there will be a fly-over by a commemorative air force with vintage military aircraft.
Two of our KeatsConnelly employees are working very hard to bring about this commemoration for our Canadian friends and colleagues who are in Phoenix during Remembrance Day, alongside our U.S. veterans who are also being honored: Stephen Thompson, a Staff Planner at KeatsConnelly and the Chairman of the Phoenix Sister Cities – Calgary Committee, and myself, as a Calgary Committee member. Several of the KeatsConnelly employees will be in attendance and will be helping out behind the scenes on the day of the event.
Feel free to come out and join us to help support our veterans! If you would like to make a donation help us provide the free breakfasts for veterans and provide donations to charities that help veterans in both Calgary and Phoenix, you can visit the Phoenix Sister Cities website at www.phoenixsistercities.org and click on the “Veterans’ Day and Remembrance Day Charity Pancake Breakfast” link on that page. Once you click on the link (that looks like a flyer for the event), you can make a tax deductible donation by clicking on the “Donate” button. If you are interested in sponsorship, please feel free to contact me, Sally Taylor, or Stephen Thompson at KeatsConnelly at (602) 955-5007.
We hope to see you there!
